A firm, shaped core sits in a soft cover. Under the cover, a heating pad covers the full contact face, and in the neck position two airbags inflate slowly to lift the base of the skull away from the shoulders.
The same cushion turns end over end. One face is shaped for the cervical curve, the other for the lumbar curve.
A carbon-fibre heating pad covers the whole contact surface, with three levels up to about 50 °C.
